Emmery Borg Recipient of Premier's Award Fraser Region and

Storm Lacrosse is proud to share that another one of our athletes, Emmery Borg, received the prestigious Premier's Award for Excellence in Sport for the Fraser Region on November 13, 2019.

Emmery is a box lacrosse athlete who played on the inaugural Indigenous Team BC 2017 for the North American Indigenous Games held in Toronto.

She also played box lacrosse with the Storm Lacrosse Team in 2018 at the Nations Lacrosse Tournament and is still young enough to qualify for Team BC 2020 at North American Indigenous Games set for Halifax Nova Scotia.

Emmery is a first year University student at the University College of the Fraser Valley.

Emmery is a competitive athlete who has taken her experiences to the next level and that includes supporting other athletes and growing the game of box lacrosse.

This past year, Storm Lacrosse was excited to see Emmery as part of the Coaching staff for the Semiahmoo Rock. She was an Assistant Coach for the team at the Coquitlam Female Box Lacrosse Challenge. Her team won their games at the tournament and took home the gold medal for their division.

Currently, she has helped out Coach Savanna Smith to coach the Fusion West Lacrosse field lacrosse clinics and this past year, was also out in Squamish Nation helping Savanna host development clinics out in the region promoting and supporting other Indigenous females to learn the game she loves.

Emmery continues to serve as an inspiration to her team mates and to those she coaches. We are proud of her achievements and can't wait to see what the future brings for her.

We know her parents, Cory and Sherri, and her brother, Kaleb, are as excited as we are to be part of the celebration.
