Callie Foreman Signs Letter of Intent to Play Lacrosse for Embry Riddle

On November 20, 2019, Callie Foreman signed her letter of intent to play lacrosse for Embry Riddle University in Florida. Surrounded by her family and friends, Callie committed to play field lacrosse with a women's program that is in its third year of operation. Embry Riddle University has one of the most well known Aeronautical Programs and specializes in sciences. Callie Foreman is excited to play women's lacrosse led by Coach Marissa Giannerini whose leadership has improved the Eagles program from 7-10 in 2018 to a respectable 10-7 in 2019. It was important to Callie that she find an academic fit as well as a lacrosse fit. With Coach Giannerini, Callie believes that Embry Riddle Eagles are a team working to getting to the championship and she can be a part of that.

Callie Foreman has had a stellar year in 2019. Not only was she a Provincial Recipient of the Premier's Award for Excellence in Sport for Field and Box Lacrosse and Rugby, she was also selected to play for the Haudenosaunee Nationals at the World U19 Women's Lacrosse Championships in Peterborough, ON August 1-10 where the team improved to a 12th place finish out of 22 countries.

A competitive athlete who currently plays for Team BC Senior Women's Field Lacrosse 2020 and who has also been selected for the Indigenous Team BC Development Squad for North American Indigenous Games 2020, Callie will graduate in 2020 with a new journey that will see her head south to gain further skills, training and study sciences at one of the best schools in the country.

A member of the Tahltan Nation Band, Callie is proud to

acknowledge her team mates, coaches, parents, extended family, and her Nation for supporting her dreams and goals and helping her with her practices so that she could move forward.

On behalf of Storm Lacrosse, we wish Callie all of the best and can't wait to watch her play lacrosse in sunny Florida next year.

"When an Indigenous athlete re-connects with their culture and identity, their path is limitless".
